Seminars will be held in the  Learning  Center Friday (9/26 from 9:00 until 12:00 and 1:00 until 5:00).  On Saturday  (9/27) in the learning Center from 1:00 until 5:00. For your convienance on Friday lunch will be available on the patio (behind the big Hanger), (Please reserve lunch at link below) so you won’t miss any of the Seminars or Workshops.

When you attend a Seminar or Workshop, ask for a ticket, drop 1/2 half in the RED CAN. Keep the other Half, drawing for Sponsor Donated Goodies will be at 5:30 on Saturday in the Maintenance Hanger      Must be present to win Only one donated goodie per winner PLEASE!

Friday September 26th in the  Learning Center

9:00 – 10:00 – Michelin Aircraft Tire  – Randy Hendrick                                                                                    Aircraft Safety is a top priority, but there is one component that is often overlooked with varying consequences as a result: Aircraft tires, Aircraft tires operate at the most extreme conditions for load and speed. They are extremely well engineered and tested and when operated properly are relatively dependable and las an acceptable life. This seminar focuses on the importance of tire maintenance on aircraft and is designed for anyone who comes in contact with or uses aircraft tires included but not limited to pilots, maintenance technicians, flight line ground teams and flight school students. It reviews common causes for related events, consequences under and over inflation, recommended inflation schedule and compensating for ambient temperature events. This subject affects us all no matter what you fly or maintain, don’t miss Randy’s seminar you won’t be sorry you got this important information.

10:00 – 11:00 – Building and Restoring Award Winning AircraftJerry Statmiller. Jerry runs BIPE incorporated, a restoration shop at Andrews/Murphey Airport in North Carolina. You can’t get any better restorations than what Jerry and his team do. He has aircraft in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington DC, one of his restorations won Reserve Grand Champion this year at Oshkosh and he restored the control surfaces on our very own Spartan Executive. Not only will Jerry show us what it takes to restore award winning aircraft but he will be demonstrating the fabric covering process on Saturday in the Restoration hanger, don’t miss this chance to hear (and see) a true craftsman at work.

11:00 – 12:00 Concorde Batteries – Chris Holder Chris is the Battery Guru, with all the changes in battery technology, you’ll want to hear what Chris has to teach you about aircraft battery technology and what it means to you.

12:00 – 1:00 – Lunch
lunch from Chic-Fl-Lay will be set up on the Patio (behind the big hanger), so you don’t have to miss any of the Seminars. Enjoy the view of One of the Premier Aviation Venues while relaxing on the patio. Triple Tree’s Amazing collection of RC and “Full Scale” aircraft will amaze you and make you want to “Come Back for More”! 1:00 – 2:00  – FAA SAFETY FEAM – Leo Burbe – FAA FAAST Team member, Isaac White – A&P/IA. Safety Wire – Everything you need to know to do a safe job at safety wiring, Both Leo and Isaac have years of experience, I promise you will learn a lot

2:00 – 3:00Hot Air Balloons – Dan Stukis – Dan is a commercial aircraft pilot and a Commercial Balloon Pilot, He travels the country attending ballon festivals and teaching everyone about ballon flying. He will inform us about ballon flying and what we (as fixed wing pilots) need to know. We will also have a static balloon set up.

3:00 – 4:00 – Recreational Aviation AssociationChris Sullivan – Beyond the Paved Runway Join this lively discussion about RAF’s efforts to preserve and create backcountry and recreational aviation destinations. We’ll about cool places to fly, what you can do when you get there, and how you can be involved in preserving these wonderful aviation assets

4:00 – 5:00  – Restoring a B-17 and a B-24 – Update on restoring the B-17 Lucky 13, Gerald Blume two years ago Gerald and his crew WOWed us with a hanger full of B0-17 parts that are going into the restoration of a WWII B-17, and a B-24! This years Gerald will update us on the progress and parts acquired for these projects. This is a real life restoration of two of the most important aircraft of the Second World War, DON’T MISS IT!

Saturday September 24th

The afternoon sessions will be held in the Air Conditioned Learning Center

 1:00 – 2:00 -Dale Ellis – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be hijacked, forced to fly to another country, with a gun to your head, held against your will and treated like a hostage? Well our own Captain Dale Ellis tells you the ins and outs of his ordeal with his captors and his daring escape to freedom. Don’t miss this “Edge of your seat” adventure!

2:00 – 3:00 – Flying the Dragon Lady -Colonel (Ret) USAF Richard “Duke” Woodhull – You will be amazed hearing about the career of the amazing man. From flying the C-54’s on trans Atlantic routes, The KC-135 tanker for the Strategic Air Command, and The U-2 in Vietnam and other locations that you will hear about in this fascinating seminar. You can’t get this kind of information anywhere but Triple Tree Airdrome.

3:00 – 4:00 – Flying the king – Ron Straus – We are extremely lucky to have Ron back to amaze us with his stories about Flying Elvis and his entourage around the world. His ground based stories about Elvis and his Military career are just as interesting. Ron will be signing autographed pictures of the Lisa Marie after his presentation. Don’t miss Ron, he’s one of a kind!

4:00 – 5:00 Delta HawkJon Heup – President Delta Hawk – FAA certified Jet-Fuel powered diesel engine is truly unique. Combining the efficiency advantages of a four-stroke diesel with the simplicity of a two-stroke engine, with un-heard of reliability and longevity. This presentation will explain the engine’s unique design in simple terms.
